Street Walker
Hopeless in this world of everything Everything in which I do not have Left to wander the street Ignored by the only ones who could help I reach up for a hand But there is none there Try to proceed with a life unwanted But the hunger pulls me back down Hope of a better future dwindles With each movement of the second hand Each tick the world gets a little darker Each second passed Is a second never to be had again The darkness consumes me now As I close my eyes never to be open again
I found this while looking through my files. I wrote this as part of a high school English class poetry project and thought I’d post it on here.
